About dnr020358

2009 was a bad year economically for everyone. I am proud person who has helped many in the past. I have given meals to those with signs on the road side. I always put money is the offering plate and in the salvation army pot.

I have never asked for a handout. I am 52. Mine, hers, and our, we have 8 children. Our current financial status has prompted me to put out a request for finacial help. . I have said many prayers and keep positive thoughts.

If there is any help out there, we sure could use some now. We are behind in house payments and couldn't even afford a good xmas. We let our time share go into default because we couldn't afford the low payments. Thanks god we are currently in good health.

We already have a hospital bill that went to collections.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Yours Truly,

Dan

About Carmengray

My name is Lorna, my Journey here on earth has been nothing less then difficult. I would much rather have my Two sons & husband alive & well. But that is not the case. My reason for telling my story is not only to ask that you help save my home, but you can see the activist works of my past 20 years.   I refused to let my children be murdered and do nothing about it at all and as a mother that is what we do protect our children even if it is their memory.  It is a pain that no one person can imagine, unless you have experienced it.  I thought there has to be a reason why this has happened and after much pray I started DRIVE BY AGONY a non-profit support organization, and talk show on Cable access television, to talk about it and allow others like me to do the same, speak out.

I have appeared on many major and local every new station, magazines and talk shows and a lot of them like Larry King Live, also cover the marches for peace marches all of the 1990’s.  I have many awards, and certificate, been on the Rosanne Bar for women of the year recognizing my work in the community, Peter Jennings of World News Tonight made me person of the week in television in 1992,  I was also interviewed in NY City on the Today’s show with Katie Curic, been on Sally Jess Raphael, and featured on the front page of Alaska Airlines Magazine as the Hero Next Door.  Sheriff Leroy Baca, LA County Sheriff, has marched with us and has been to many of my youth forms and events we put on for communities to help stop the violence and educate the public about the effects of violence.

This fight is alive & here everyday with me and now I need help. Continuing my work after the lost of my Husband of 30 years, it has been beyond manageable,  But I stand strong and faithful that things will and can change for the better;  can you help with the new fight in my life,  saving  my home.

What a difference a year makes...

I didn't receive any messages from anyone when I created this page last year. I did create a similar profile on eBay and had a few messages from others who would like to help if they could, but so many people are struggling right now. It's sad because I really thought that just maybe it would work. I carefully researched costs, etc. But today as I read over the costs I estimated, it's really unrealistic I suppose. Today I asked my husband what he thought about bringing Savannah home without any modifications to our rented 2 bedroom duplex and to try to do without a handicap accessible van. I said that maybe a few churches would help us raise money for a van once she was home. He of course was the realistic one and pointed out the fact that we have absolutely no room in our duplex (my stepson already has to sleep on the couch), she is too heavy for me to lift, and what exactly would I do when our 5 year old son  when he needed to go anywhere and my husband was at work, and how would we support another family member when we're in such bad financial shape as it is. I don't know. I just don't know. It seems so unfair.

How are we doing otherwise? My husbands hours have been cut drastically. I'm STILL waiting for a decision on my disability application. We can barely provide for the four of us in this small duplex. With Savannah, our family of five would have to get at least a 3 bedroom home if she came home. Yeah, right. We are 2 months behind on our current rent, our gas just got shut off, and we had to visit the local food bank for the first time. My husband works in the auto industry and just finished two weeks mandatory unpaid time off. It has sent us in a tailspin. I just used our change jar to have a way to fill up the gas tank. I walked in with a baggie full of change and was so embarrased as the clerk counted out the change because a lady I used to work with was right behind me. I have applied for food stamps and it has been a nightmare. I applied on May 18th and have yet to receive any help. They accidentally sent us a denial on June 18th and rescinded it saying they thought we didn't send our paperwork in (they found it the next day), but no one has worked our case since. I call and they say our application has been marked as high priority and overdue but still needs "worked." The truth is we're on our last roll of toilet paper, my husband doesn't know how he's going to get gas money for work this week, we are running out of the canned soup the food bank gave us, and we have no sugar to even make koolaid. So, I of course chuckled when I read over my post from a year ago hoping for $250K when today I would love to have $2.50 for sugar, soup, or toilet paper. It's difficult to remain positive.

So, now more than ever - we do need help. But this time, any amount will help. If you want to help our family, you can email akemonsr@aol.com. We do have a PayPal account set up so you can just send donations that way or email if you have other suggestions. God bless all the struggling individuals and families!

THANK YOU ALL!

I would like to take some time to thank all who have taken the time to read my story.  I would also like to tell you that God blesses us all in a way that we would never believe.  I have been contacted by companies that have offered me help in buying a home.  My bills are caught up.  My son will be getting help and things are looking much brighter for us.  Even though I didn't find the help I needed here, I got to share my story with others.

I have been homeless in the past and would like to tell others that this is not a laughing matter.

I would also like to tell others that there is a Discrimination Law out there that helps people in situations that are not controllable, such as Family size, Marital Status, Sex, Color, Religion.  Also there are many other things.  Land Lords can not Say no to you, Just because you have children or too many kids.  There are laws that protect us. We all need to use those for our benefit.

Also there are many Mortgage companies out there that Are Legit and will help you find a home, but there are also those who will scam you.  Those who will get your hopes up and then Boom.  Just smash them right down on you.  What the heck is up with that.

I have been working very hard to make things better for my family.  I have been doing it all on my own and have found that it is a Wonderful thing to show your children that you can do this.  So with that I would like to say I no longer need any Money to help me in my Future, I am going to do all of it on my own.  Good Luck to all who are searching for Donations.

Housing Problems

My name is Maria, I am a single mom of five kids.  My current situation is embarassing.  I had a problem paying my rent last month, just because I wanted a better Christmas for my children.  What a huge mistake that was.  I went to the mail box today and found an Eviction Notice.  January 8th 2007.  I have five days to pay or get out.  I don't know how I am going to do that>My income doesn't even come close to paying the $518. Plus a $10 Late fee.  Along with a Threat received from my landlord that Reads word for word.

Dear Tenant:
This letter is to inform you that your rent can no longer be paid later than the 5th of the month.  You have been continously late, have been given numerous quit or cure notices and you still do not pay your rent on time.  Since your rent is partially subsidized we are to report every time you are late with the rent.  From thos point on we will report all late or non payments fo rent to the RD office when this happens they will take away your rental assistance and you will Never be eligible for assistance Ever again.  Please do not let this happen.  Remember the next time your rent is late it will be reported to the RD Office.  If you have any questions call me at the above number Ext.25.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Regards,
(landlord left private)

I don't want to list the landlord name, because of worries of a lawsuit.  I don't get help from Rural Development, but I am currently on Section-8.  A totally different place than they put in the letter.  The letter was the first.  I had several contacts from the Manager of the crumby apartment that I live in, All I said, is until you can prove to me that I owe what you say I do, then I will pay it.  I have admitted to being late with the rent twice in the past three years that I have lived here.  I didn't pay the $10 late fee and that added up.  A huge mistake.  Well, then I had made a choice, to get my children gifts for Christmas and wait and pay rent when I got paid from work on the 9th.  Which is tomorrow, Well, I called my landlord and they will not work with me on this.  I have enough to pay $270, but I don't know where I am going to come up with the rest of the Rent.  I fear that I will have no where to go.  I have been homeless in the past and I don't want that.  Not again.  I have been working very hard on cleaning up my credit.  I done well with that.  But, because I am a single mom, getting very little help with child support for the kids.  I can't afford to move.  I can help anyone here the best I know how with CREDIT issues, I cleaned up my credit without paying off all of my debts.  Like I said, I can pay $270 on the 9th of January 2007, but don't have the rest, which is only $258.00  Well then there are the stupid late fees.  So if anyone can help me please email: mariafuller5@triwest.net.   I have a paypal account and any help can be sent directly to paypal using my email address as a payment.  Also, if you are requesting Credit help you can email me with questions.  This service is FREE.  Thank you for help. and God Bless.  Maria and family.

This is Revised:  I would like to let people know, that I have found some great help.  I don't need any money any longer to help me with my rent.  It had been taken care of.  I would also like to say thank you to all who had taken the time to show interest in my site.  I also would like to say, I have found a lawyer who is willing to help me in regards to my son's issues.  God bless all!

Pet & Family in need of Assistance

First and foremost I am very embarrassed about posting this on site but i am very desperate and this is actually my last resort. To begin with I am 28 yrs old I just got married to a lovely man on August 3rd he's 25 so we're actually just starting out. What's ironic is that our birthdays are on the same day, we married out of love and love alone. Getting to the point about things, because i don't want to bore you with a love story. My husband lost his job in November and he spent every single day looking for aother one to provide for us while i attend school, he did succeed in finding a job as a corrections officer but had to go through exstensive tests and background checks, after successfully completing all of that we are waiting to receive a call back for his start date. In the mean time the bills have fallen behind and we have received an eviction notice,(meaning if we can't pay the rent in about 20 more days we'll have to find somewhere else to stay) The rend is $680 but we have no more money to pay it, hopefully  this job will come open soon. I have been preying. On top of that my husband had given me a pet palmeranian on our birthday's, I named him Teddy. I did not know that Teddy was sick at the time until about 3 weeks later it seemed as if he had a cold. I didn't think anything of it because i thought it would just go away but it has gotten worse. Now he's coughing up cold and going into convulsions, i have no funds to carry him to the vet or to the emergency hospital and they do not have payment plans, so i have no option what so ever to  get him any hel. And I'm scared for him because i'm afraid he may die! I can not have any kids and we have adopted Teddy as part of the family. If we do not get help soon Hopefully someone will have a kind heart to donate, anything, even $1 will help us along the way. My husband does not know that I am doing this because he would not approve, he has too much pride (ladies we know how men are) but we are in need of your help, i think he will understand that we can get through this with a little help. If i can work for a donation i will be glad to. I can type 75wpm so if you need help typing something up or want a resume done please let me know i will be happy to assist in anyway i can.

If you would like to donate or send a personal message please email me at scrisingstar@aol.com and i will send you a link.

Thank you all very much.
